Outdoor Wednesday

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday.

I have been MIA from Outdoor Wednesday, and I
am so happy to be back.

Thank you to our wonderful hostess Susan at A Southern Daydreamer for
this fun event.

A lovely thing happened to me last week,

I had a surprise visit from my daughter and grand daughter.

Imagine my surprise when my daughter called and said

she had plane tickets and would be arriving the next morning.

Of course my reaction was typical grandmother, I screamed with delight.

As promised my daughter and granddaughter stepped off the plane in time for lunch the following day. Talk about spontaneous......

We fit 2 weeks of activities into 6 days, and what fun it was.

My granddaughter Bella had a blast and her cousin Riley, who

lives nearby enjoyed her visit as much as I did.

We went to Disneyland and Bella was very taken with the princesses, so

one afternoon we had an outdoor princess tea.

During the course

of our tea the girls decided to blow bubbles.

On the day I picked them up from the airport I also
had to pick up my new kitty. She started out the day with
me at work waiting to head to the airport. She worked very hard.



She attended the princess tea and actually started the search

for Cinderella when she found the lovely glass slipper.

Playing with these girls is hard work. I think she needed a little rest.
We named Kitty "Dora" as in Dora the Explorer
For those of you moms and grandmas out there, I'm sure you know who this is.

Once upon a time, as all good stories go, three princesses came

to visit the Quirky Queen of Whimsy. The Quirky Queen of Whimsy in her glorious castle, welcomed them with open arms.

Now as all good princess etiquette goes, a party must be thrown

to welcome the young princesses.

The princesses must be taught the fine manners and social graces of royalty that will carry them out into the world.

So the table was set in all of it's finery. The princesses were bathed

and powdered and dressed in fine gowns. Delicious cakes and cupcakes

were baked and selected to set out before the princesses.

(little known fact: princesses love buttercream)

Other Queens and Princesses of all ages were invited to share in the festivities.

(that would also be mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers)

So all of you Queens and Princesses,

• The most delicious cakes and cupcakes
• The most beautiful princess gowns
• and a whole lot of fun

I am not sure who had more fun, the lovely princesses or the moms and grandmas, and great grandmas. The girls served themselves tea and helped themselves to luscious cakes. We couldn't keep them away from the cakes and cupcakes.
Afterward we had a lovely game of bubbles. Enjoy.

The Proposal

The Proposal

I thought I was the only one who hadn't seen the Proposal but
lo and behold my friend Cheryl hadn't seen it either. So we
chuckled about it when we randomly met at the movies.

I picked up the mothers, Delores and Diana on Sunday and
we headed off to see the Proposal.

It was very cute, and Ryan Reynolds (who has been one of my favorites
since The In Laws) was fun to watch.

I would recommend this chick flick, it had very funny parts and was

worth watching for the beautiful scenery of Alaska. The family home of Ryan Reynolds was stunning and Betty White a delight.

We had a fun afternoon.

Reprieve for 6 more months

Had my mammo this week and visited with
my Palm Springs doc yesterday. All is well for another 6 months and I am
doing the dance of joy. I don't have to get another mammo for a year.

The Meeting of the Cousins

This is a little out of order, but right after I picked Stacy up from the airport on Thursday, I heard a request for what else but Miguel's BRC Burritos.

So we stopped at the office and met Kristi, Riley and Madison who just happened to have BRC's. Yummy.

Here are the cousins at their first meeting. This time Bella and Riley were friends and Madison was the alien being.

Welcome to California Bella, I am so glad you came.

Happiest Place on Earth ....

Disneyland .......

No I am not talking about Disneyland.... well yes I am kind of. Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth when you are sharing the day with a darling little princess and her mother. Princess Bella and Queen Stacy came to visit our humble village last Thursday.

It was a spontaneous trip. From the time Stacy asked if she should come and she walked off the plane was less than 15 hours to our delight of course.

On Friday morning, armed with stroller and sippy cup, Princess Bella was on her way to her first trip to Disneyland. We arrived early and stayed late and saw just about every character that lives at the park.

We started at California Adventure because Princess Bella loves Mickeys Playhouse.

They had a darling little show. She loved it and afterwards promptly fell asleep so Queen Stacy, Prince Sean and I went to see the Aladdin Show. From there we headed to Disneyland and to see Princess Bella's favorite star... Mickey Mouse.

And there is no place better to find Mickey than at his house.

the first character Bella saw and loved it.

Next, off to see the other Princesses.

Bella couldn't wait to see the princesses.

Our first princess was Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
now she should have been in blue but we forgave her because she was beautiful.

Our next princess was Mulan (a bit of a gip because she isn't
really a princess but one of Stacy's favorites)

and lastly ... Snow White. The princesses were so sweet
and got right down to Bella's level. We were actually very lucky because

as we were leaving there was a shift change and we also met Ariel, Belle and Cinderella.

How lucky was that? She loved them so
much we had to buy a princess necklace afterward.

Riley a blue one.
Next off .... A Small World

Then a trip into Storybook Land through Monstro's tail

She loved it all.

into a dear old friend.

7. Helped Stacy pack a set of 3 beautiful aqua canister jars in her carry on (the girl doesn't leave anything behind)

8. Gave Bella a kiss goodnight.
