"Hello Old Friend"
There is a friend I have that I look forward to seeing once a year.
I drove into my driveway yesterday and there he was smiling up at me.
Just seeing him made me smile back. I know his friends will be arriving shortly,
so in great anticipation of things to come, I share him with you.

3rd Tablescape Tuesday - "Sweethearts"
Thank you Susan at http://www.betweennapsontheporch/ for another fun Tuesday. Please check her blog for many beautiful tablescapes as well
as talented tablescapers.
This is my second Valentine's Day table and again maybe the last.
Squint hard and pretend I have a lovely cupid in the the center of my table,
since this is the closest thing to a cupid I have.
Do you see his little bow and arrow?

Future Accountant .......... Not
Riley came to work today and was very intent
on a new book. Knowing how I get when I start a
new book I didn't want to disturb her.
Obviously, this was a real page turner. She just
couldn't put it down.
I was curious, maybe I wanted to read this book too.
So I took a closer look.
I know when I'm done with a good bookI like to keep it in a safe place so I can loan it out. I guess Riley has
a different philosophy.

Practically Perfect for Everyday!
I wanted to share this Practically Perfect idea that can be used for everyday. I recently received a wonderful gift from a dear friend and she was so clever in her presentation. The gift was a giftcard. Giftcards are sometimes hard to present because you want to do more than hand it over. (even though we all love receiving them) This gift card was tucked into a darling glass jar stuffed with shiny shredded paper, and wrapped in cute paper, not to mention the cute box she put it in. Please remember it was a gift to me and in my eagerness to see what was inside I did crumple the paper a bit.
I hope you can get a good look at this because it was so cute and I for one plan on using this idea with my next gift of a gift card. Just think of the possibilities.
I love the idea of sharing ideas like this so if anyone has something they would
like to share on anything I would be interested on starting this post. More about
this practically perfect ideas later......

The New Year's Eve part of the Celebration
We gathered at Katina and Mike's home for dinner, games and the new year. Our meal consisted of Wood Ranch which I think we all thoroughly enjoyed. Katina had us play the newlywed game which totally stressed me out. Turns out Kevin and I know each other pretty well in that we got most of our answers right. Who knew?
Kevin and me with my lovely cake.
We had a great time, thank you Katina and Mike for opening

My Happy Belated Birthday
On my birthday this year I was invited to a gathering with 2 other couples. We had a delicious dinner and played some games. The evening was such a success I hope to have another in February. Maybe a Valentines evening out. Since my birthday is New Years Eve, we did double duty in celebrating.
Me with the baker extraordinairecream cheese frosting, my absolute favorite of course.
Peggy made me the most delicious cake ever. It was carrot cake with
First Tablescape Post
My friend Kris introduced me to Between Naps on the Porch because I love tablescapes and home decor. I look for excuses to do tablescapes, okay it borders on sickness. Thank you for featuring these lovely tablescapes. I peeked for the first time last week and enjoyed each and every one.
For my first contribution I was going to feature a table I did for my granddaughters 1st birthday. We are about to celebrate her 2nd and I need some inspiration. However that picture was not available so I chose my Fall table of this year.
I used gold chargers and a plate from a Target Waverly collection from several years ago. I love runners and this one I found at one of my favorite stores, HomeGoods. On it I have an assortment of pumpkins, mercury glass acorns, fall leaves and of course candles. The glasses are both from the Bombay company from 5-6 years ago (different finds from different years) My tables usually have items of every price range (usually lower than higher). I love the hunt and I never know what I will find or what I will end up doing with it. I will have more time next week and do a more current table.
Actually I can't wait, Thank you for letting me participate.

Sean moves out
Sean moved into his new apartment recently. The last piece went in over New Years weekend. Sean needed a TV cabinet, and in my opinion found one that suited him to a T. They hadn't bargained on getting it upstairs to the apartment though. That thing was so heavy I'm surprised it survived, let alone Kevin and Sean.
